You send the NIC - or your registrar - a Host record instead of a
Domain record. They will install the A record. If it is outside your
domain, I believe you must ask those running its domain to submit the
Host record.
This is not always necessary.
You must remember to remove it if you are ever done using it! Too many
folks leave legacy Host records in the root or top-level domains.
