xfer erase soa records?

Danny and all,
I'd rather stay in 8.2.3 if there is an easy fix for this problem. There
are always problems in whatever version...and I don't have the luxury to
continue troubleshooting. I'd appreciate if any of you can point me a
direction to fix this problem other then updating to 8.2.4.

First upgrade to BIND 8.2.4. If you are running on NT, make sure that
you install the NT2 version as there was a zone transfer issue which
resulted
in the zone data file getting erased after the transfer completed. Is it
JUST
the SOA record that's getting erased?
