Problem with "authoritative answer"

Chris,

Thanks, that makes sense, and I'm not all that surprised to hear it.

I haven't heard anything from the amanda list on whether or not
the zmanda client checks to see if the reply is authoritative or
not. And experimentally we failed, then it worked, then failed
and worked again.

So whatever is happening doesn't not seem to be systemic, as 
computers are supposed to produce the same result each time.

And, frustratingly, its become moot. The machine was repurposed
and the DLE (disklist entry) I was backing up no longer exists.
Whether it comes back or not, or has a new mount name, remains
to be seen...
