>From Bv9ARM, p. 68: "If no listen-on is specified, the server will listen on port 53 on all IPv4 interfaces." A client could query a quad-A or any other record using IPv4 network transport, and that would be processed normally.
Also from Bv9ARM, p. 69: "If no listen-on-v6 option is specified, the server will not listen on any IPv6 address unless -6 is specified when named is invoked. If -6 is specified then named will listen on port 53 on all IPv6 interfaces by default." This would affect any queries, including those for quad-A records, received over IPv6 network transport.
