The child RRset will be cached and returned in client queries.  However,
it has been suggested to check with the parent servers that the
delegation is still unchanged when it expires, so that you don't get
stuck eternally on name servers which serve a stale copy of the zone
after a delegation change.  I'm not sure that this is implemented in
BIND.
