Benchmarking on different machine types, even if they are identical
speed, can be affected by any number of issues:  ethernet card type,
motherboard chipset, etc.  Even features chosen on an identical chipset.

For true comparison, one must run the 32-bit OS on the same hardware
(not just "similar" hardware) to do a direct comparison.

That said, more is not always better.  64-bit means it can move more
memory around faster in certain circumstances, and it can address more
than 4 GB without pulling special hardware tricks.  That said, it MUST
move around double the memory in certain operations, like pointers.
BIND 9 uses a fair number of pointers, so often times the overhead
increases faster than the benefit of a larger accessible memory area.
