Psuedo-Master Zones

Thanks everyone for your answers. Seems I'll just have to find some other way of doing what I'd like. To throw something strange into the mix though, I'll bring up another configuration that accomplishes what I was asking.

I currently have yet another internal DNS server doing what I asked in my original question, but it uses MySQL for it's backend for storing the zone data. For whatever reason, this has worked for what I've been trying. The only problem I've had with this is that every now and then the DNS doesn't respond for just long enough that one of my internal servers gets an incorrect IP address. That's why I'm switching to a file based backend.

In any case, it sounds like I can't do this with a file based Zone backend. Thanks everyone for the help.

No, we've had to work around these limitations of axfr/notify, so that
we can take this concern away from our customers.

I would love to find a nice bind-supported way of dealing with
views/axfr/notify, so if you find anything, please let me know.

Thanks,

Chris
