And actually, names that are on the left-hand side of a CNAME record can
also appear on the left-hand side of certain DNSSEC records.

I don't think there's a similar general rule about right-hand sides,
just - as you say - the specific rules against use in RHS of MX and NS.
Which, unfortunately, does not prevent their use in many cases ...
