logging security category

Hi folks...I seem to be misunderstanding the logging category
'security'. From the docs:
security Approval and denial of requests.
At first I assumed this meant query requests, but now I'm not sure.
I have to assume the conf statement is correct, named created the file
I wish to write to, and other logging statements work, but the
security log file is 0 bytes.
channel "mysecurity" {
file "/etc/security.log" versions 4 size 1m;
print-time yes;
print-category yes;
severity info;
};
category "security" { mysecurity; };
How does named define these "requests" per the security category?
Thanks
