Bind 9.4.3b2 will not start (RHEL AS Release 3, Taroon Update 8)

actually it's running in solaris 10 zone. and yes, named zone have /dev/poll
device :

# ls -l /dev/poll
crw-rw-rw-   1 root     sys      135,  0 Jul 23 19:15 /dev/poll

any other tests i can do?
