Upgrade from 9.3.4 to 9.5.1b1 breaks query logging

All,

Have been doing query logging 'forever' using the same logging
configuration. However, this latest upgrade broke query logging.
Sniffing the network, I do not see any attempt by named 9.5.1b1 to log
queries. Running the same config under 9.3.4 works fine.

Did something change and I missed it? If not, debugging suggestions?
