I don't understand the relevance of that link: *registry* systems 
require a whole different kind of software from regular 
DNS-management/IPAM software.

That would be like comparing a piece of everyday spreadsheet software, 
to a package that performs complex numerical analysis; maybe a bit of 
overlap here and there, but markedly dissimilar.
