Local resolution of some parent domain hosts

Is it possible to configure a BIND 8.1.2 name server which is authoritative for domain A.B.C. to locally resolve some, but not all, of the hosts on parent
domain B.C. such that B.C. domain name servers are used by the A.B.C. domain name server to resolve all other B.C. hosts and x.B.C subdomain hosts and if
so, how is this configuration set up?
