MX pointing to CNAME

What I have seen is CNAMEs in the local domain mostly work while CNAMEs to
another domain mostly bite. The rest mostly depends on the resolver and the
mailer trying to use that MX record.

If you ask the inventors of CNAME they will tell you CNAME was not a good
idea after all. If you can, avoid them. They will at best cost time to look
up.
