Primary DNS crashed, how to get it back up?

Start by reconfiguring your current workin slava as "master", this to
protect the zonefiles from destruction.

Then configure your new primary as slave initially, using your current
slave as master ( don't forget to allow your new server as allow-xfer)

When your new server has retreived all zones , edit named.conf
to make your new server "master" and when done, bring back your
old slave as "slave" again.

Your zonefiles won't be so pretty but that is fixable with your
favirite editor ( or some perl-ing)

As last task, arrange for some kind of backup for both machines.
