Wrong zone file..

I'm trying to get a sub-domain set up as follows:

this.domain.com. IN	MX	mail.anotherdomain.com.

*.this.domain.com.	IN CNAME	anotherdomain.com.
This.domain.com.	IN	CNAME	anotherdomain.com .

However if I put this in domain.com's zone file I get an error

So I added this.domain.com to /etc/named.conf and created
this.domain.com's own zone file but now get

So it looks like its going to domain.com for the answer, not
this.domain.com, is there any reason for this?
