Hi,

Ironically, just 2 days before 9.3.3 "final" was released, I got this
error on a 9.3.3rc3 (recursive) resolver.

Dec 7 12:27:16 resolv2 named[1925]: [ID 873579 daemon.crit] adb.c:497:
INSIST((rdtype == ((dns_rdatatype_t)dns_rdatatype_a)) || (rdtype ==
((dns_rdatatype_t)dns_rdatatype_aaaa))) failed
Dec 7 12:27:16 resolv2 named[1925]: [ID 873579 daemon.crit] exiting
(due to assertion failure)

I got a corefile from the crash, so if anyone can give me directions of
which gdb commands you think are useful, I can give you some output...

I did a backtrace, and it gave me this info:

# gdb -core=core.named.1925 --args /usr/sbin/named -4 -c named.conf -u
named
GNU gdb 6.2.1

---cut---

This GDB was configured as "i386-pc-solaris2.10"...
Core was generated by `/usr/sbin/named -4 -c /var/named/named.conf -u
named'.

The host which it was running on is a Solaris 10 6/06 s10x_u2wos_09a X86
(taken from /etc/release). Bind was compiled with Suns GCC suite (from
the Solaris Companion CD).

Since 9.3.3 now is available, I will upgrade to that version ASAP.

Regards,
/P
