named.conf cannot be changed

In SuSE 8.1 there exist two files:

/etc/named.conf
/var/named/etc/named.conf

There is a script that copies /etc/named.conf to /var/named/etc/named.conf
before starting bind.

I guess in your version there exists a similar script.
