	Uh, no.  I ripped these guys and Amber Ankerholtz 
(editor-in-chief) a new one over the incredibly poorly written 
_SysAdmin_ article, and any predecessor to that is going to be even 
worse.

	The problem is that these guys know Linux reasonably well, and 
they know how to optimize their spam mailer application to run really 
fast there, by eliminating all the reliability you would normally get 
in an MTA, etc....  They know a little bit about Windows and I/O 
Completion Ports, and how to do the same sorts of things there.

	But they don't know crap about Solaris or FreeBSD.  If they had 
been smart and stuck to just the two OSes that they knew anything 
about, and had focused on lower-level simple benchmarks, it might 
have been an interesting comparison of programming techniques on 
Linux versus Windows.  Of course, that wouldn't have gotten them 
published in _SysAdmin_, so there you go.


	Let's not muddy these waters further by bringing in heinously bad 
examples of yellow journalism into this discussion.
