SRV-related: Can I have $ORIGIN _tls.example.com?

This came up recently at work, in a context of SIP SRV records.

SRV records with a leading underscore is permitted as per RFC2782 and
the current I-D. That works great.

But would _tls.example.com be a valid $ORIGIN?

If not, that would imply that SIP SRV records cannot be put in their own
individual zone? (Such a limitation should be noted, if so.)
