Issue with sendmail -- ip6.arpa queries rejected, ip6.int works.

At least this version of resolver library should not use bitstring
labels.  But I was told off-list that you were using glibc (instead of
FreeBSD's system libc) for sendmail.  Is that correct?  If so, the
glibc implementation is likely the source of the trouble (while I'm
not sure about that part since I don't know much about the resolver
implementation of glibc).  In this case, the trivial solution is to
avoid using glibc, of course.  If you need to stick to glibc for some
reason, I don't know the best answer.  But since glibc in this case is
just a third-party library, it seems to me not so difficult to upgrade
the glibc version in your environment.
