Zone File Checker ---> CNAME and other data

Hi,

I have a BIND 9.2.x server running as a slave for two domains in the US.
This has worked fine for years without error, however just over a week ago
it appears that the zone files for the two domains our server was slaving
for became corrupt and I'm now getting the "CNAME and other data" error in
the log, and worst of all the zone file has now expired! As a temporary
measure I have turned our slave into a fake 'master' server using the older
zone files for the two US domains - however this is of course only
temporary!

I have contacted the US DNS admins for the respective domains (they are
running BIND 8.x) and they have checked through their zone files and made
some corrections, however I am still getting the CNAME error. I've done alot
of research and the error seems quite simple, yet the zone file is so large
it makes it quite difficult to check through manually.

Therefore, my question is ... is there a zone file checker that can check
for the kind of error that the "CNAME and other data" error produces? I have
seen reference to zone-file-check on Debian BIND but nothing that works on a
Linux / BIND 9.x platform.
Please help!

Regards,
