Updating from Primary NS

Dear all,

I am still struggling to update zone files from a primary to a secondary NS
on a different network - and then I realised that the secondary is running
BIND 8 and the primary BIND 9.  Can a version 8 NS receive meaningful
updates from a version 9 NS?
