Actually, there is another subtle distinction here, that between free
speech and free beer.  Conforming software must be free in the former
sense, but need not be so in the latter sense.

There are extensions, I understand, but they may not be distributed
with the original, "pure" software.  Instead, anyone wanting to use the
extensions must get a second, patch pack, and apply it.  God help you
should you want to get two different extensions, though.
