AIT domains

Is everyone at AIT incompetant or does it just seem that way to me?

Whenever we have a .org domain try to change to our new DNS servers it
pukes because it's "not in the .org registry".

I've talked to the people at AIT who point the finger at regsiter.com.
 I call register.com who says everything is in the SRS registry and is
functioning fine (and it is, except for modifying DNS at AIT).

What do I have to do to get .org's to work?  Have the .org's
transferred to another registrar?

Is there a way I can search the srs myself?
