Many A-records

Then, if true, those tools are severely limited and unsuitable for real world
use.

The mapping from domain names to IP addresses via "A" and "AAAA" resource
record sets is M-to-N.  Any tool that imposes the constraint that it be 1-to-1
is unduly restrictive and unsuitable for general use.
