You don't have to do anything ( except remove all forwarding stuff)
As delivered bind knows about "internet roots" and when you
configure zones ( via "zone" statement, bind will lokk there
for information regarding that zone. Anything else will
go via normal recursion starting with Internet root-servers.
Forwarding is just a way to obscure things, in rare cases needed.
