Problems with NS, glue, and nameserver registration

They didn't seem to know that they can do this !

I've arranged for the .com domain to transfer to Network Solutions 
where our parent company has an account and I can manage this 
on-line. I'm just waiting for the transfer to complete - but having 
waited a week with it showing as "approved, waiting for registry" 
I've just had an email saying it failed as the original registrar has 
not approved it !
