Queries fail first time round

Well it does vary quite considerably ! At the moment I'm getting :

round-trip min/avg/max = 77.201/2149.15/6037.31 ms

to www.demon.co.uk

There is no prioritisation, and it would be very difficult to do 
since the bulk of the issue is going to be the queue at Demons end of 
the link (data in exceeds data out by about 5:1 overall). As for 
traffic, well we can keep the link busy with email alone on some 
days, then add in the business essential web use, and the file 
downloads (they are good at keeping the line busy all the time), and 
I'm guessing that at times we can get the outbound packet queue on 
the other end of the link quite full - hence the high latency.

The good news is that we have plans to upgrade ! The plan is that we 
share a 2M connection in Germany via our Parent companies Frame Relay 
network, all I have to sort out is how we mange a firewall shared 
between 3 different companies with different user access policies.

 From the sound of what you and Kevin have said, that ought to 
alleviate my problem.
