Guide to programming BIND 9?

Is there a Guide to Programming BIND 9 anywhere?

I have found the littel "RoadMap" file (which help more
than one would think) and understand that much of the
documentation is in the header files (helps a bit too.)

Reading the code is working, but there must be some
shortcuts for new BIND programmers...?

Are there any architecture or programmers' guidelines
for BIND?
