I should have read more carefully.

He should replace the IP address on the right hand side of the
NS record with groundknifer.cjb.net.

Nothing else needed to change, I didn't read his proposed change
carefully enough.

The ns1 record was obselete. But using an of site secondary is
far better solution, the delegation also had to be corrected.
