To be honest, you shouldn't really be considering running dns yourself.
It's not an easy thing to get right, and it's very easy to get wrong.
There are plenty of registrars that will do the dns for your domain for
you, usually at no extra charge.

If you insist on proceeding yourself, buy and read "DNS and BIND, 4th
Edition" before taking any further action.
