How do I verify a Name Server?

nslookup sucks. When it says the nameserver is not found, all it means is
that it couldn't do a reverse-lookup on the nameserver's address. That
shouldn't be a fatal error, but with nslookup it is.

Use any other tool besides nslookup to verify the operation of that
nameserver and you should be fine. "dig" is a recommended DNS lookup
tool.
