It behaves as expected.

ns.uu.net is not a server for "co.uk", it serves "uk."

So you asked it about something it doesn't know about, and it
pointed you in the direction of servers that are closer to the
answer you seek.

There are sometimes transient problems with the UK domain and
it's second level domains, but I routinely check the most
important of them through monitoring delegation of domains
important to me, and hassle the authorities to sort them out.

Any major problems like you suggested and it would be in my
inbox by 9 oclock the next morning. Of course they ought to
monitor their own delegations, but that is another story.
