Yeah, I'd run across that with hidden primaries, where one of the
secondaries was listed as the SOA primary.  But that's not a problem if
the SOA primary is not listed in the NS list at all, as in the
"loopback" case.

I can't say I like listing a loopback address as the IP of the MNAME,
but the alternative for a TLD server is attracting squillions of updates
from broken Microsoft clients.  <sigh>
