You do not have any MX record at the zone apex. The wildcard MX *only*
matches queries where the qname is not explicitly defined.
MTAs are supposed to fall back to address records, but maybe adding a
proper MX record would help.
By the way, you are going to change those TTLs, right? Three seconds
caching and then one hour negative caching sounds pretty extreme.
