Hello all- I very much appreciate everyone's comments and insight! I'm going to take Cricket's advice and move towards BIND 9.x. The IXFR's between my master & slaves don't seem to work at all in 8.2.3-REL. I need to upgrade corporate-wide DNS versions anyway... so this is a good excuse. John
