Uh, I don't know about that.  VeriSign GRS runs two of the 13 root
name servers, and the SOA record for the root-servers.net zone shows
a.root-servers.net (run by VeriSign) as the MNAME for the zone, and
hostmaster at nsiregistry.net as the RNAME:

$ dig soa root-servers.net.
