Unless control of the timing of the updates is critical, I disagree.  The
more often you make changes, the more opportunity you have to screw it up,
and the better off you are delegating to someone with more expertise and/or
tools that make stupid mistakes less likely.

Most of my work these days involves monitoring the logs on our slave
servers and notifying customers who operate their own masters of the
problems we're detecting.
