Jester,

Update your version of BIND to 9.2.1. See http://www.cert.org or
http://www.isc.org for the latest vulernabilities in the version of bind
you are running. Then, if you are still pulling errors, post those...

Aslo, the errors you are seeing indicate that there are errors in your
named.conf file. If these error persist after your upgrade, please post
your named.conf file as well.

Thanks,

Dave...

Hello,

             I have moved up to REdhat 7.2 after i had been running 6.1 for
quite a while. Was running 8.2.3 but have now got 9.1.3

I had saved all my config files but when starting it is not liking the
options in my named.conf file any longer. It essentially starts by showing
my internal network range like so

acl internal {
        192.168.0.0/24;
};

I get this written to my messages file

Jun 21 12:32:44 Echelon named[1816]: starting BIND 9.1.3 -u named
Jun 21 12:32:44 Echelon named[1816]: using 1 CPU
Jun 21 12:32:44 Echelon named[1819]: loading configuration from
'/etc/named.conf'
Jun 21 12:32:44 Echelon named[1819]: /etc/named.conf:1: parse error near
internal
Jun 21 12:32:44 Echelon named[1819]: loading configuration: failure
Jun 21 12:32:44 Echelon named[1819]: exiting (due to fatal error)
Jun 21 12:32:44 Echelon named: named startup failed

Can anyone see anything that i should now be adding/changing or deleting ??

It had been working fine

Regards

Andrew
