No MX record drops mail

Well, gdvnet.com *does* have an MX record, so I think you're misdiagnosing the
problem. Either your nameserver can't resolve the MX record (which you can test just
by doing queries from the command line), or perhaps sendmail is not properly
configured to use the nameservice.
