wildcard * in zone file and very low response time

[Zhang, Defu]

I have a line:

*	IN	A	x.x.x.x

in my zone file.

The BIND server and another machine are connected in a single sub-net =
island (no connection to outside world).

I tried to ping www.yahoo.com from another machine, and it should =
response with x.x.x.x.=20

It works, but I have to wait for more than 15 seconds.

Is there any method to have the response faster?
