Okay "network.company.com" would be a legal domain name (If
someone hasn't taken it already ;)
DNS data doesn't care about subnet masks, or IP addresses, or
LANs or WANs.
For example zone "root-servers.net" domain has servers
deliberately scattered on diverse networks across the whole
world.
