Actually it (DNS) is an autonomous, reliable, distributed, hierarchical
database, the first and by far the largest of its kind.

So-called alternative so-called "roots" also break it.  As do DNS-aware
load balancers and DNS-aware NAT boxes.  It's getting so that "reliable"
is becoming "fragile" due to the number of clueless wahoos developing
so-called products that supposedly add (but NOT) "value" to it.
