Refresh: is the time which a slave server keeps data before trying to refresh

Retry, if after refresh time it is not possible to refresh try every retry

default ttl used to be the default ttl for any resource record, now it is the
default ttl for a negative cache, but the later is not honoured by older NS

Checl the logging section! You can log almost everything wherever you want.
You may use bind's own logging system or standard syslog.
