Alan,

I would assume that he's talking about a backup mail exchanger which
would then take the following format:

@	IN	MX	20	mail2.domain.com.
mail2	IN	A		10.1.1.1

Of course, this only works if there is a mail server setup to handle
backup MX duties for his domain at that IP address.

On another note, it is rather useless to obfuscate IP addresses and
domain names for what are to be public servers.  The only thing this
accomplishes is making it difficult (if not impossible) for people to
help you.  Please refrain from doing so in the future.  For more
