The bind-9 documentation "the ARM book" has a chapter on that,
see "http://www.ipsec.nu/dns/bind9/Bv9ARM.ch03.html#AEN371" which has
a number of tools described, and at the end, a working rndc.key sample.

I would recomend that you download and read the manuals for the products
you want to use. Even a "browse" will give a good feeling for "whats-in-there".

Bind-9 is no exception, together with the source tarball is a doc subdirectory
with some very good documentation.
