Searchlist problems...

I am having problems with a bind configuration I am trying to setup.  I=20
have a solaris 2.6 machine running bind9.2.4 which is the master for one=20
subdomain.  The sun machine itself is currently in the larger domain and=20
not using its local dns server for dns but rather another master server.

In my resolv.conf on this machine I have no domain line but I do have a=20
search list that includes the subdomain, its larger domain and another=20
domain.  I start getting problems when I go into nslookup and point my=20
server at the local dns server.

What I see (looking at the logs) is that any machine that I try to lookup I=
=20
will get in the logs a lookup for the machine name with the first domain in=
=20
the resolv.conf search list then just the machine name no domain.  I=20
understand that the local master is not master for the first two items in=20
the search list but it should at least append all items in the search list=
=20
before giving up.

When I have the subdomain first and I lookup a machine in that domain it=20
works.  But if I try to lookup any other machine it does not use more then=
=20
the first item of the search list.

Why is this happening???
