Ok.....stupid question no 10....where is my log file?
And, I have to admit I used "service configuration" in KDE GUI to restart
named, as I'm not sure of the command. (I am using a secure shell to access
my server from a windows box more and more, but still a lot to learn, and
some things I still do at the server GUI)

Thanks from possibly the most ignorant wannabe system administrator on the
planet :)

PS......does this help?

#/usr/sbin/named-checkzone teawamutu.net
dns_zone_load: zone teawamutu.net/IN: loading master file teawamutu.net:
file not found
