not really.  a CNAME is exclusive of other records since it's a direct
alias to another zone.  so you shouldn't use one if you need to also
have an NS record (or NS records) for the same subdomain.

i am pretty sure this is exactly what they're trying to say you can't do
actually.

the solution is simple; don't use a CNAME if you want to delegate child
zones!
